The Super Bowl May Be Over, But . . .

Greetings everyone.

It's your neighborhood Pastor Tim again, that is Tim Whetstone. I guess I never thought that I would be serving in a local church with another pastor named Tim. It sure does make it easy for people to remember our names . . . but then again a lot of other confusion arises!

In any case, here's a quick report on a couple events.

First we did have an excellent Glory Barn/Super Bowl Party out in Theodore. I believe there were close to 50 people in attendance with an incredible bunch of young children playing, laughing, ignoring the game, yet creating a whole new world within the barn! When I watch little children, which I am tending to do a lot now, as a new father, I am hit in the face time and time again of Jesus' beckon for us to be "like little children"! Little children have such trust, faith, imagination, and curiosity, to name but only a few. They are honest when something hurts, or their hungry. And they love unconditionally in their innocence! What a great reminder for us all to adhere to the words of our Christ, and well, live faithfully in the invisible hand's of our Heavenly Father.

Secondly, our MC Sunday (Mission Celebration) was beautiful. With the service being interactive, the "sermon" was short but the "message" filled their entire service. It was a journey spent in community seeking to know what our "mission" as the Body of Christ is really all about. And if it is about being involved in what God is already doing in the world, then should this not lead us to; confession, communion, and celebration!? We hope to see you all at our next MC Sunday March 4 - We will have some young college guests with us sharing their stories about Africa, college, and the journeys that God is taking them on.

Finally, before we sign off today, we want to also remind you of some incredible events coming your way:
1. "Sadder Meal" - Saturday March 24Th. This is open to everyone and there will be child care available. (We will write more about what this entails soon).
2. "Dinner on the Grounds" - February 18Th following the morning service
3. "Work Day" - February 24Th at Lighthouse

Grace and peace to you all.
